Beverley Beach is located on the east coast of Florida, south of St. Augustine. During the month of March, the water is still quite chilly. If you're willing to brave the chill, then the waves are a blast for body surfing. I donned a wetsuit and braved the waves most of the days. Riptides should not be taken lightly. I found myself in a situation, and thankfully, had a strong swimmer help me get back to shore. After that experience, I stayed more inland.
The campground is above the beach with steps at certain locations providing access to the soft, beige sand. Walking along waterside was an intense workout since the soft sand pulls you down into it. The campground and beach are dog friendly, and our pets loved the surfside experience. If you time your visit with rocket launches, you will get an up close view of the skyline track just like we did in the video.
Since Beverley Beach is close to St. Augustine, visiting the historic town is recommended. We were there during the beginning of COVID-19, so Fort Matanzas was closed to the public. We were able to walk around the exterior of the fort and still was able to shop at the local stores and eateries.
