Peace River, Arcadia

Peace River provides a family and pet-friendly camping experience, especially for those who have OHV's (off-highway vehicles). Although the campground has a speed restriction (<9.5mph) for the trails and camping area, the riding experience is quiet adventurous. There are plenty of mudholes and trails to ride. The kids can even ride without the restrictive requirements of certification and gear which is usually found in the state parks. Since it is on the Peace River, there is a "beach" and rope swing for good ole river swim time. The campground also has a definite restriction of no glass, so plan to bring canned drinks instead of bottles. There's a clean pool and an archaic arcade with two pool tables and older video games, but they are enough for some downtime fun.
Halloween was our first experience at Peace River, and during a COVID year, it was excellent for social distancing while still being able to have fun. Campers decorated the campsites, and the kids were able to safely trick-or treat throughout the campground. They provided free pumpkins to the kids to paint, had an ice cream truck for purchases, and promoted

a costume contest for the little ones. I definitely recommend this campground for those who love the downhome Southern camping experience.
