Georgia on my mind....

Being a native Floridian, it seems we have only two seasons -humid hot and wet cold. So when the opportunity arises to enjoy a change of seasons, I jump at it. My cousin, Rick, was performing campground host duties at Sloppy Floyd State Park in Summerville, GA, and invited my sister, me and our families for Spring Break at the park. Everyone goes to Florida for Spring Break, whereas, Floridians escape northwards.
Sadly, my husband's mother had passed away a couple of weeks earlier in Oklahoma, and he was still there with the RV straightening out her affairs. My youngest daughter, Sydney, and I had driven back to Florida with my oldest daughter, Christina, and her husband, Gilbert. My husband, Donald, agreed to meet us with the RV at Sloppy Floyd. I drove my sister's Armada to Sloppy Floyd with my mom and Sydney as passengers.
Sloppy Floyd has a large lake which provides for some fun water activities such as fishing and paddle boat rentals. The campsites are woodsy and well maintained. The paved areas were great for bicycling and challenged us on the hills. Nearby attractions that we enjoyed included the Lost Sea, Cloudland Canyon State Park, and the Bethel Church and confederate cemetery.
Just as a side note.... when you visit a cemetery, make sure you don't bring back a ghost. Donald and my brother-in-law, Bruce were sitting by the fire with the dog laying in a lawn chair. They witnessed the lawn chair start shaking and moving by itself. The dog was not making it move. Bruce came running into my cousin's camper, freaked out over the incidence, excitedly telling us what had happened. We figured that we had either picked up a ghost from the cemetery, and it wanted to sit. Or, since it was my deceased mother in-law's dog and my deceased father's lawn chair, they were fighting over the seat. Sloppy Floyd is a "spirited" place to visit.
